Coachesβ Code of Conduct
As a coach at Impact Sports Academy, we strive to create a positive and respectful environment for all athletes. We expect our coaches to uphold the following standards of conduct:
1. Respect and Sportsmanship
Treat all players, coaches, referees, and parents with dignity and respect, on and off the field.
Model sportsmanship and encourage players to respect their teammates, opponents, and officials at all times.
2. Player Development
Prioritize the development of each player's skills, confidence, and passion for the game over winning.
Create a safe, inclusive, and encouraging atmosphere where players of all skill levels can thrive.
Focus on long-term development by teaching the fundamentals of flag football and promoting teamwork.
3. Safety and Well-being
Ensure the physical and emotional safety of all players.
Monitor for any signs of injury or distress, and follow proper procedures for addressing injuries or emergencies.
Emphasize fair play and ensure no athlete is put in harmβs way for the sake of competition.
4. Positive Communication
Maintain open, positive communication with players, parents, and other coaches.
Offer constructive feedback and guidance that supports player growth and well-being.
Address any concerns or conflicts with professionalism and a solution-oriented mindset.
5. Accountability and Responsibility
Attend all practices, games, and events promptly and prepared.
Lead by example in behavior, attire, and commitment to the team.
Take responsibility for the team's conduct and address any unsportsmanlike behavior.
6. Inclusivity and Fairness
Provide all players with equal opportunities for practice and game time, regardless of skill level.
Avoid favoritism and ensure that team decisions are made fairly, promoting teamwork and unity.
7. Commitment to Growth
Stay up-to-date on the latest coaching techniques and strategies for flag football.
Attend coaching development workshops or meetings offered by Impact Sports Academy.
Be open to feedback and always strive to improve your coaching abilities.
